Requests for Proposals: Making RFPs work for Nonprofits and Vendors

#14NTCRFP

This session is for people who either purchases software and services as well as people who provide such things. RFPs are controversial, with good reason: a poorly written RFP does little to help the buyer or seller forge a successful transaction or engagement. We'll discuss what type of RFP works in what type of circumstance, and how you can use this formalized information transfer to establish good vendor/customer relationships and get what you need.

Participants will walk away with: 1) A solid understanding of what a Request For Proposal is and what it should do; 2) Good tips on when to write questionnaires, how to gauge vendor expertise, etc; 3) Guidelines on when to and when not to request fixed bids for consultant work.
