  • Online Fundraising Lessons Learned from 80's TV Shows
Speaker: Rich Dietz, Founder, Nonprofit R+D
I watched WAY too much TV in the 80's. For years I thought it was a total waste of time, but now I realize there were some very valuable fundraising lessons to be learned in those cheesy 80's sitcoms.  (80’s attire optional but highly encouraged)
  • Bringin’ Techie Back
Speaker: Steve Heye, Manager of Technology, The Cara Program
The world of technology has changed and continues to rapidly change. In fact, it even seems the very definition of technology has changed. Today's techie is a reflection of this, but it seems we may have lost sight of what makes a techie a techie. So I am bringin’ techie back.
  • What we've learned in 6 months of "When You Work At A Nonprofit"
Speaker: Leanne Pittsford, CEO & Founder, Start Somewhere
In August 2013, we created "When You Work At A Nonprofit", which catalogs daily life working in the nonprofit sector. Since its explosion, we've learned a ton about the amazing people who work for social good. In this session, Leanne Pittsford will walk through what we've learned and what it means for the sector, as told through the top 10 Gifs on "When You Work At A Nonprofit".
  • Community Media: Empowering Community Technologists
Speaker: Craig Sinclair, Digital Media Manager, Manhattan Neighborhood Network
For over 35 years, Community Media has empowered media makers across the US, providing audio/ video training and distribution. Now both our individual and non-profit community producers are also community technologists, mastering new digital skills, and creating new technologies.
  • From Pessimist to World-Changing Optimist: The Five-Year Plan
Speaker: Sue Anne Reed, Account Manager, The Engage Group
In 1994, I dropped out of college and couldn’t keep a job because I was depressed and couldn’t manage my chronic pain. I hated the world, and I thought the world hated me back. How did I go from depressed pessimist to world-changing optimist? It wasn’t easy.
  • 7 Sexy Secrets of Highly Successful Campaigns
Speaker: Cheryl Contee, CEO, Fission Strategy
Some campaigns are more awesomely impactful & inspiring than others. We've all stood back in amazement at some of our favorites. Cheryl will enlighten you on the secrets you can use to make your next campaign sparkle!
