Before we begin, we'll announce the winner of the 2014 DoGooder Video Awards (presented by See3 Communications, YouTube, the Nonprofit Technology Network, The National Youth Media Network and National Alliance for Media and Culture, and sponsored by Cisco).

  I watched WAY too much TV in the 80's. For years I thought it was a total waste of time, but now I realize there were some very valuable fundraising lessons to be learned in those cheesy 80's sitcoms.  (80’s attire optional but highly encouraged)

  The world of technology has changed and continues to rapidly change. In fact, it even seems the very definition of technology has changed. Today's techie is a reflection of this, but it seems we may have lost sight of what makes a techie a techie. So I am bringin’ techie back.

• What we've learned in 6 months of "When You Work At A Nonprofit"

  In August 2013, we created "When You Work At A Nonprofit", which catalogs daily life working in the nonprofit sector. Since its explosion, we've learned a ton about the amazing people who work for social good. In this session, Leanne Pittsford will walk through what we've learned and what it means for the sector, as told through the top 10 Gifs on "When You Work At A Nonprofit".

  In 1994, I dropped out of college and couldn’t keep a job because I was depressed and couldn’t manage my chronic pain. I hated the world, and I thought the world hated me back. How did I go from depressed pessimist to world-changing optimist? It wasn’t easy.

Friday Award Presentations

Before the plenary, we'll present two awards:

The Care2 Impact Prize recognizes individuals in the nonprofit sector who have made an outstanding impact on the field of online advocacy, online fundraising or both.

The 2014 IMAB Integrated Marketing Awards recognize the results of innovative integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns or programs in each of three core pillars of integrated marketing as defined by the IMAB.

Friday Plenary

Join a roundtable of experts to take a deep look at where technology belongs and who exactly is in charge. Following a point-counterpoint tradition, NTEN's CEO Amy Sample Ward will facilitate a conversation with panelists Michael Enos, CTO, of the Second Harvest Food Bank, Gouri Sadhwani, CEO of the Akanksha Fund, and Rick Cohen, Director of Communications and Operations at the National Council of Nonprofits.

Saturday Award
Before today's plenary, we will announce the winner of the Tides Foundation 2014 Antonio Pizzigati Prize for Software in the Public Interest. The Pizzigati Prize recognizes one individual who has created or led an effort to create an open source software product of significant value to the nonprofit sector and movements for social change.
