Kathy Bisbee has a successful track record of over twenty years in empowering communities and individuals through the innovative use of media, civic engagement, digital storytelling, and technology training.

As Executive Director of CMAP.TV, Kathy has increased fee-based services, developed successful partnerships with schools, youth organizations, local government, donors, business partners, citizen journalism projects, and created regional collaborations that have helped streamline and market the value of community media services. Kathy is the founder of the Convergent Media Alliance, an organization committed to improving relevancy and efficiency in community media nationally.

In the past year, Kathy and her team have reinvented the operations, management, technology infrastructure and volunteer program at CTV in Santa Cruz, CA, to create a long-term sustainability model in a post-apocalypse world without traditional operating fees from cable companies.

Kathy served for four years as a national board member for the Alliance for Community Media (ACM),and has received numerous national awards for her video production as well as her locally-based community organizing work. Kathy is honored to have been included as a featured speaker on technology, marketing, and innovation in community media at national conferences such as the Knight Foundation Media Learning Seminar, NATOA, and the ACM.

In 2012 Kathy won a "Best Documentary" award for "Don't Cost Nothin' to Dream," a film featuring Latin American youth who are using hip hop as an instrument of hope and change in their communities. More info can be found at www.bisbeefilms.com.

Kathy studied Political Science and Social Sciences at the University of Maine, and received a masters in Integrated Marketing Communications and Public Relations, and spent 13 years working for technology start ups.

Enamored with the convergence of music, art, media, technology, nature, poetry, baseball, and all forms of cultural anthropology, Kathy kayaks among sea otters in Monterey Bay, CA and has wicked snowball fights in MA.
