Innovation Consultant
Washington, District of Columbia
Marc Maxson is a PhD neuroscientist who coordinates the GlobalGiving Storytelling project and conducts research to make GlobalGiving's network of organizations more effective. As one of the few who bridge science and international development, Marc Maxson brings a different perspective to the problems of global philanthropy by stealing from evolution, behavioral economics, game theory, and complex-systems theory.

Prior to joining GlobalGiving, Marc worked as a neuroscientist, served in the Peace Corps in The Gambia from 1999 to 2001, and did a Fulbright research project around the impact of computers and the Internet on rural education in West Africa from 2003 to 2004. He blogs at http://chewychunks.wordpress.com.
